R3 Acetabular System

With the RT Acetabular System, Smith & Nephew has once again demonstrated innovation. Multiple bearing choices may be accommodated by the R3 acetabular cup, and STIKTITE offers a porous covering that is intended to promote bone ingrowth. Without removing a well-fixed shell, the technique enables you to go from resurfacing to a limited liner. The R3 polyethylene liner locking mechanism has a strong construction that makes it simple to insert and remove the liner and provides exceptional liner/shell stability. For total hip replacement patients who have or are at risk for repeated dislocations, the R3 restricted liner was developed.

A bipolar bearing that articulates with a captured outer polyethylene liner makes up the R3 restricted liner option. The femoral head and the bipolar, as well as the bipolar and the outer liner, will both be able to move as a result.
