The method enables surgeons to approach the joint from the outside of the knee, rather than starting the sutures inside the capsule and having them leave less precisely out the rear.

Increasing the scope of meniscal repair

A patented suture-capture loop and both curved and straight needles, are used in the MMII system. The surgeon may mix straight and curved needles to effectively access the rip, depending on the anatomy of the patient. These elements enable the surgeon to do a meniscal repair from the outside in, which may reduce the risk of harm to neurovascular structures.
