The following characteristics of a non-woven dressing, made of calcium alginate fibers:
- Soft, natural material with high M type alginate
- Absorbs excess wound exudate and forms a gel over the wound surface, to facilitate the control of minor bleeding
- Absorbs up to 10x its own weight
- Makes use of the well-established advantages of moist wound healing, which may speed healing in a variety of wound types.
- Conformable and easily trimmed to fit a variety of wound sizes and shapes
- Can be utilized along with a variety of secondary dressings with little to no harm to the wound bed or patient upon removal, as shown in a patient case study or report
