Strengthening Ring

Signs include severe osteoporosis, acetabular erosion, many cysts, modest protrusion and confined cavitary abnormalities. Acetabular reinforcement rings are designed to be employed in primary and revision procedures, where the acetabulum has deficits of the acetabular roof, anterior or posterior pillar, medial wall deficiency and/or protrusion as a consequence of the causes described earlier.

Application – Adequate support can be attained in the inferior medial and superior posterior quadrants of the host bone. To reduce unsupported cement, use a buttress of cement. Pure titanium used in commerce, controlled insertion via a threaded hole.

Ring for reconstruction

Large cavitary flaws, pelvic discontinuity, segmental defects affecting the anterior or posterior wall and abnormalities in the medial wall, are indications.

Application – There is support in both the inferior and superior posterior areas.

Pure commercial titanium is used to shape the flanges. The use of three flanges, improves ring fastening and offers various screw hole configurations. Cement buttresses above and below to reduce unstable cement, controlled insertion via a threaded hole. Rough surface finish to enhance bone attachment and cement adhesion.
